Pop Up interviews: fashion marketing Interview with Dr. Marco Filocamo For today's interview we deal with Fashion Marketing, and specifically we interview one of the managers of the "Fashion Tech Accelerator" project in Milan, Marco Filocamo, with whom we discuss various issues relating to the program, as well as the importance of innovation and new technologies in a sector as important for Italy as fashion. Good morning, can you tell us about the Fashion Tech Accelerator? When born? What is his goal? What does access to the program mean for the company that accesses it? Fashion Technology Accelerator was born in 2012 in Silicon Valley. After a year he opened offices in Milan and Seoul. The objective of the accelerator is to identify international startups with high growth potential, which bring innovative solutions to the market from a business model and technology point of view operating in the fashion and retail sectors.
We select companies that have already created a product and are therefore already on the market, in Find Your Phone Number order to support them for 6 months with a dedicated acceleration program to structure the company and allow it not only to increase its effectiveness on the market, but also to collect capital more easily at the end of the acceleration period. How do I access the FTA program? Can you explain the process to us? The fourth edition will be from 13 to 17 March 2017. Can you tell us about the collaboration with Silicon Valley? The United States is more focused on the technological aspect, and the collaboration occurs mainly in three areas. If the startup is ready and has already started internationalization, it can consider a fund raising with US funds. Furthermore, technological due diligence to evaluate startups is carried out in collaboration with our American office. Finally, we jointly organize training courses in Silicon Valley for executives of fashion companies. Why, in your opinion, has the mix between fashion and technology become essential for companies in the sector? What can one give to the other? Fashion is one of the few sectors still tangentially affected by the technological and digital revolution of recent years.
